I'm a Bad Liar

It's that time of year again where me and my friends attempt to put together some kind of arrangement for Christmas - otherwise known as Kris Kringle or Secret Santa as some people may call it.

The worst part of that is the whole 'it's a secret' kind of thing, because frankly, I suck at lying. When we first pull the names out of a hat, everyone looks at their paper and tucks it away looking all ninja-y and avoiding eye contact to not arouse suspicion (haha - arouse... ...sorry.) and then when we go off to our various classes, you see people together whispering frantically about what to buy this person and whatever.

This is how I found out that Cat has Jess, though I won't tell the whole story because I'm sure you don't care.

And that's not the point of this entry.

The point is, when someone asks me who I have, I generally can't refuse to tell them. If I do, this stupid shit-eating grin makes its way onto my face and I look absolutely stupid. Seriously, I do.

This is how Jac found out that I've got her. Since we have basically all our classes together (5/8), it's resulted in us being really close and because of that, she kept bugging me to tell her who I've got. When I kept refusing, she just kept asking and after questioning some of the others, she started to interrogate me going "Oh, you've got me, don't you?" "I know you have me, I've asked everyone else, stop denying it!" and like I've said before, the stupid smile appears on my face.

Honestly, if you ask me any question yes or no question and the answer is yes, if I'm denying it and telling you "I can't tell you" with a retarded expression on my face, I'm lying and yeah, the answer is yes.

Sigh... I fail at life. and neopets.

Whatever, I'm going to go now, though I do have more to rant on...

Because I'm cool like that.

Ooops....

Have I really not posted in exactly 5 months? My, my... I'm lazy, aren't I?

Lily, happy birthday, and what do you want for your present? Hopee you have a great day, even though you haven't read this yet, nor have you woken up (I'm assuming you're already asleep... =])

Here's a question: Why am I still awake?

I should really study for School Cert today/tomorrow. I mean, you know... a bit, at least. All I've done tonight is look up more asian dramas to watch. Does anyone know any good romantic comedies? I'm not a major fan of tragedies and those kind of series where there's a plot-twist which makes your heart wrench.

And no, I haven't watched One Litre of Tears and I don't intend to, either! (Nor do I want to watch Gokusen. I've seen a bit of it in class, and I'm afraid it doesn't spark my interest.)

...Now I can tick 'Update blog' off my to-do list. xD

And is anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year? Last year, I think I wrote about doing it? Whatever, I'm not this year. I've got too much else to do, such as study for the JLPT and my piano exam.

Oh my gosh, I'm pretty screwed for General Knowledge... D=}

...That's one hell of a cool emote.

Goodnight! (>^.^)> <(^.^<)

Type in 'Love' in Google Images and you get plenty of cool pics...

Finally, I've updated... & Pierced Ears!

I doubt any of you really care, but remember how I said that I've been neglecting my fanfic?

I finally posted a chapter two days ago on Monday and today, I finished writing another. -sigh- I should really write something for my school's bulletin.

Honestly. Anyway, there's not much for me to say today, other than the fact that I'm still in my Super Junior phase...

Oh wait, I got my ears pierced yesterday!!!

Yeah, it hurt. Hahaha... all my friends said it just feels really hot afterward, and it didn't, for some odd reason.

And when I say it hurt, it doesn't mean I was a wimp and fully crying or yelling or whatever. No. I don't do that. It was just rather sudden and there was some pain.

Think about it. A piece of metal forced through my ear. Both ears. At the same time. Of course it's going to get some reaction from me.

The studs are just silver with a clear/'diamond' crystal in the middle - which, I believe, is plastic - and when in the right light, it has a blue hue.

I don't know why, but I've always liked silver more than gold. But you know what's best? White gold. That beautiful pure silvery-white colour, but it's gold.

...I'll be an expensive girlfriend/wife in the future...

But that's ages away, so it's all good.

I hope all you other Aussies are having a good holiday!

Yays, New Design! and those Asian Animal Hats

Good afternoon everyone! I'm sure you've all noticed an epic re-design of my blog!

I think it looks far nicer, but I think the new font is too small so I've had to upsize my text in the blogs. I've edited the last one, but before that, you may want to zoom your page in to read them unless you have epic eyes or something...

It's the holidays and today I went to Stocklands to buy stuff. I'm getting my ears pierced tomorrow but don't focus on that.

I bought a husky hat! You know those asian hats that you see Japanese and Korean people wear in reality shows and stuff? I got one! Yay!

Both my mum and the woman who was selling it gave me the strangest look when I insisted on getting one, but that's just because I'm in touch with my inner child and they aren't. So Hah!

And Officeworks is having a sale. Bought a bunch of stuff including this REALLY REALLY REALLLLYYY nice book that I saw. It's SO pretty, like oh my gosh.

I'm happy.

Taking a Break

I am just here, as the title may imply, to 'take a break'. Oh, what am I taking a break from, I hear you ask? Allow me to enlighten you:

I am writing, quite simply, an essay.

Andd... that is all I'm going to say about it. I don't feel like expanding. Instead, I want to address a topic which I have realised is quite dire.

I'm around three to almost four weeks late in updating my fanfiction. I've got the chapter written, I've just got to do some major re-working but the problem is, I have a writer's block as to what I'm going to write about. The lack of reviews certainly isn't helping either.

But, I look at it this way: If I'm not getting that many reviews in the first place, I means that I'm not getting that many readers who think my story is worth reviewing, hence, I may take my time in updating. After all, who on earth am I going to disappoint by being regular?

The way I see it, I have nothing to lose.

Another thing I find myself wondering about: How is it that some people become ultra famous with their blogs or their youtube channels and everything? I mean, really? They all must have started as some random person talking/writing about random things at SOME point (like me) but somehow, their random words because ultra popular and well known and BAM! They're an internet sensation.

I'm not saying that I'd like to be like, because I'm wondering if the expectations are a little much but still. It'd be nice to break at least 100 views perhaps?

Then again, if I blogged more often about topics more interesting that my dull life, perhaps people would be more likely to click on this page's link?

Regardless, I think "Go With the Flow~" Needs a new name. If I can rename it, that is.

Shin Dong Yup: Are you confident?

Eunhyuk: Of course! I've always been interested in things involving hitting people.

Yes, Hello...

I get the feeling this post will be VERRRY long...

Half-Yearly reports. 4 A's, 4 B's.

A lot of people would be totallly crushed by this result, but really, I'm cool with it. Maybe it's just cause I'm a cool person. Or just... no... no, I can't say I don't care. But yeah.. I was 1% away from getting an A in PDHPE (Who cares~?) And 2% from Science. And that was only cause I screwed up my assignment at the beginning of the term. With Maths, I always get a B and with Commerce, 1. I'm deffo dropping it, 2. I SWEAR that was calculated wrong.

But it's cool. Cause in my yearly, I'm do my best and whoop the tests' arses.

Question: Do you say 'ass' or 'arse'? I personally prefer arse. It sounds more refined... And English. Saying 'You're such an arse' is far more enjoyable when said with a Brit accent. Lotsafun.

I'm supposed to be writing my wide-reading submission right now. But what's weird is that I actually prefer reading the brief analysis of the story 'Wuthering Heights' rather than the book itself. Is that weird?

I would say so.

And one final thing:- no wait, I'm going to keep going after this. Uhm, music... Yes, I suppose music would be a decent topic.

I'm assuming the reader has at least, heard of Super Junior, right?? The 13 (or is it 15 now? or maybe 10?) member Korean boyband?

~I'vetotallyfallenintomusicallovewiththem <3

It's late, I'm sure, since people have spazzed over them years ago when, simply, I didn't care. Now, however, I DO!!! andIgottastopspammingcommas...

I just randomly searched 'Gee' by Girl's Generation because I remembered last year's spring fling and wanted to know what the actual dance was. And then I saw the link to 'No Other' by SuJu and I thought Oh, that's that band that's ultra popular. Let's see what the hype is about. Needless to say, 'twas far from overrated.

I ended up learning that song on the piano. And watching all their TV show series. I think my favourite so far is EHB but close second is probably Idol World. It's not first because it doesn't have all the members in it. And my fav. subgroup? Toootally Super Junior-H (Happy). Because their songs are so HAPPY! =D

Right, I'm going to end this rant now before it blows out of proportion. Screw the picture and funny quote, since I love SuJu so much right now, I'm adding a second picture!

~LeeteukKanginDonghaeEunhyukSungminKyuhyunRyeowookYesung

(+Henry and Zhoumi, who aren't there -->)

E.L.F.~!

Super Junior, HWAITING!

...DonghaeBiased, EunhyukBiased.

Or third... (LOL!!!)

Harry: Ryeowook
Hermione: Eunhyuk
Ron: Yesung
Snape: Sungmin
McGonagall: Leeteuk
Dumbledore: Shindong
Hagrid: ...Siwon??
Hedwig: No idea. Heechul?

Now THIS, I promise, is the fourth, and final picture!
...Plus the intended 'quote'.

Results... or half of them, anyway.

Ho hum... second day in a row? Almost? I feel like it. After half-yearlies, I don't really feel the push to do anything remotely work-related. And I ought to eat dinner now or soon or whatever.

Right. Results.

Before I get into some boring drivel, I have one thing to say:

I DIDN'T FAIL COMMERCE!!! -celebrates-

Yeah, that's right! I got 82%! 41/50! Isn't that simply brilliant! I'm ecstatic! Bahahaha!! Anyway -cough-, right.

With maths, I screwed up this half-yearly, meaning I'll have to do epicly well in my yearly to get an A. As a result, unless you REALLY want to know (which I'm sure you don't), I shall not tell you. ^^

Science (out of 100): originally 68, but then I realised they didn't mark two questions, so it went up to 74. Then the teachers found out they didn't mark half the papers correctly which raises it to 76. So my final is... 76%! That's eight higher than my original. It's stunning. =D

Geography is just 44/50, so 88%. It's good. And... that is all. I have no opinion about Geography except that it really wasn't so hard. My awesome friend got 49/50. Now THAT is epic! I swear she must have gotten top in the grade!

And I think that's it for now. No English, History or PDHPE. I may get the last one next Tuesday. We'll see.

Until then, um... farewell! (What a pointless post!)

Winter Sets In and WATER SPOUTS!

It's the 2nd of June and I realised that yesterday, I only remembered to 'pinch and punch' one person. How sad. Well, it's winter now and I don't honestly have much to say. Apparently it's going to be a warm winter cause we had a freezing autumn.

I've posted a new story on fanfiction.net: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7043453/1/Dragon_Master

Please do me a favour and check it out, dropping me a review as an anonymous reader or registered, whatever. And uh, I wrote it a LONG time ago and though I've edited it, the later chapters I can almost guarantee will be better, cause I haven't written past... 6? [I was on a roll and had gone as far as 9 until my computer crashed a few years ago and thus, I've hardly even touched it... though I've started working on it again. =)]

And the water spout link I added at the top, I think it is? You should read some of the comments at the bottom. Everyone's all: "OMG, LIKE, END OF THE WORLD!!!" KetameShioto (me) wrote: Chill. Yeah, cause really, those water spouts ARE rather pretty.

You know, in Chinese mythology, it's saying that a dragon is drinking water from the ocean. Isn't that very anti-end of world??

Honestly, keep calm and carry on. =)

Post-Half-Yearlies, Shall We Dance? and Downton Abbey

Sooo, my school's half-yearlies are done and dusted... I have really nothing to do now, except...

Enjoying this blissful peace!

You don't truly appreciate the feeling of not having to study until AFTER you have done so for an extended period of time. Truly, for that, I can attest. Makes me wonder what it'll be like when I hit Yr 12 and studying will practically be my life, and then follows uni.

On another note, I watched Shall We Dance? (take THAT English teacher: NOT UNDERLINED) on TV last night. Made me fall in love with ballroom dancing again, like the movie does to me every single time. Sigh, I think after school, maybe I'll try a waltz class or whatever. Looks like fun.

Another reason for thinking about this incredibly odd endeavor is the knowledge that my life is utterly boring. Other than school, I have piano on Tuesdays, Japanese on Saturdays and maths tutoring (not worth being capitalised) on Sundays... I have no life, pretty much.

I feel the need to try something new. It's a mid-life crisis before the middle of my life (I hope). Anyhow, that's the reason why I am trying a new anime called 'Gintama'. Maybe you've heard of it? It seems promising.

And tonight at 8:30 (it just finished at 10), Downton Abbey was on!! I've been waiting for it for a while. Just seemed... interesting. Everytime I hear the song Last Night, I think of that series. Same goes for Ke$sha's song which goes 'This place about to blow' etc. Don't ask for the name. Don't know, don't care.

Moving on...

In Downton Abbey, I love the actor who plays Thomas, Rob James-Collier. Seriously, he is preeettty hot... -coughlily,don'tevermentionisaidthiscough- too bad the character is gay... haha nah, I'm an epic yaoi fan (much to the disturbance of my guy friends). Yes, quite so.

Alas, I believe I have nothing more to report other than the fact that I know I got 89% for Latin this half-year... that, and my grammar sucks and - despite me being an unseen-translation pro - I have to sit with my teacher the next time we do grammar analysis. Not that I mind, my teacher is cool.

Goodbye all!

...? I got pkmn White!!

Yes. Script Frenzy. Day who-knows-what and I've only written 5 pages.

-sighs- I'm supposed to have written at least... 30? by now. I dunno, I've quite literally got my whole story planned out, but I just can't be bothered writing it all in script form.

I think the constant scene changing and dialogue writing is making me feel bored. I write stories, not scripts.

And I've been sick for the past few days. I'm all better now (thank god it was just a cold), so you know, maybe I'll be more motivated later.

In OTHER news...

I GOT POKEMON WHITE!! =D

I know it's a little late, since I'm aware that some people have even finished it but hey, at least I made it in time for the Liberty Pass event!

...I have nothing more to say. Goodbye everyone!

P.S. (Chocolate Party tomorroww!!)

P.P.S. And thank you to the anon (shackles?) who said happy birthday to Benjie. He appreciates it. ^^

Script Frez-ayy!!

ScriptFrenzy

Well, well, well, it's APRIL!! And I know what THAT means! It's time for ScriptFrenzy to start!

For that large majority of you who don't know what that is, it's a thing where you have to write 100 pages of script in 30 days. Namely, one month, also known as, APRIL!

I'll also add that today is my dog's birthday!

Happy 6th Birthday Benjie, and I hope you enjoyed that bit of ...toast. I gave you. (He's on a diet! So sue me!)

ScriptFrenzy couldn't have started on a better - or worse - date.

April 1st - April Fool's Day - was last Friday, correct? On that day, I was returning from a camp down to Jindabyne which went from Wednesday 7am (DUDE, I HAD TO GET UP AT 5:30!! Not cool!) to Friday 4pm. So I couldn't actually start writing for ScriptFrenzy until today. Which is Sunday. Meaning that I have to write around 9 - 12 pages. Today.

Unfortunately for me, it's already 8:47pm and I think I have a geography test (on that 'field trip' which I previously referred to as a camp), and a I definitely have a Science thingo on Tuesday. Now I have to study all these stupid formulas for velocity and acceleration and blah.

Yes well, I shall get onto that tomorrow. In the meanwhile, I'll add a little widget so all you people who actually read this blog and care can cheer me on and keep track of my progress as I die under the virtual pages of my script...

TUMBLR ...part 2! and Earthquakes and Radiation.

Introducing... the ever illustrious and anime-filled tumblr of none other than ME!!

<theketashiriver.tumblr.com> Is the link so click it. I dare you.

I don't know, I only got it cause all my friends kept going on and on about tumblr and I was just curious about what all the hype is about. It's actually quite interesting. Better than I thought it'd be.

Now, on to more serious matters, I know that you've all heard of that huge earthquake in Japan on Sunday. That truly was a terrible catastrophe.

I pray for all of the Japanese citizens and those who aren't... basically, everyone who may or IS getting affected by the earthquake. I pray for you all.

That's one of the benefits of living in Australia. We're far away from everyone (except New Zealand) so if anything happens, we're far, far away and probably won't be affected by radiation blown over the ocean. And then there's the fact that we don't have any volcanoes and we lie right in the middle of a tectonic plate so earthquakes are basically impossible.

I suppose the only negative thing would be the fact that our climate is pretty irritating sometimes, what with the bushfires and the floods. The only natural disaster we're at risk of would be tsunamis...

And another thing. The radiation being blown over that ocean. Doesn't that mean that all the ships and animals and everything living in the ocean will get a huge dosage of radiation? If that IS the case, does it also mean that there's a possibility that mutant sea creatures will be swimming around and... may even walk on land!! Nah, I'm just messing with you.

Ah, but you never know...

Tumblr

Haha, it's been such a long time since I last posted anything...

I have a valid excuse though!!

...school is a bitch. I currently have five assignments, but thankfully they're all due AGES away.
I've got an essay on Monday and a test on the same day. And before the test, I have fitness for PE. Which means running around the school, doing painful exercises and basically sweating disgustingly before being shoved into the jaws of maths.

ew. I just realised that makes me sound marinated.

gross!!

Ok, anyway. My school newspaper-type-thing apparently has too many members, so if we don't write anything for it, they're going to start kicking members. No, not kicking them with their legs. Kicking them out of the club.

It's irritating, because I honestly don't know what to write. I thought it would be easy, just like how easy it is writing a blog, but NOOOOOoooo.. just MAKE it hard to write, why don't you?

If I wrote an article for the Bulletin, I'd probably die. This stuff the kind of stuff you put in a school newspaper.

Well, my article's title is Tumblr, so you'd assume that it had something to do with it, right?

Unfortunately no, I was going to, but I believe I've written enough. For now anyway.

If you're interested at all in why I was going to write about tumblr, keep an eye out for the legendary post...

TUMBLR! ...part 2!

Holidays~

I just completed five days of Latin Summer School at Sydney Uni, and now I have the holidays once again. It's only one week before the start of school but every day counts. =D

LSS was... entertaining. Did I learn stuff? Um, no. I was too busy going 'Eh? What does this word mean? Ohh, okay, so that's Gerundive. Right. A subjunctive? How the hell do I recognise a subjunctive?!' and of course the most thought of thought: 'Oh. My. Gosh. I FEEL SO STUPID!!!'

Yup. It's like every single bloody person (other than the ones who were with me) knew about everything the two teachers were talking about...

Then again. Like I said, it was interesting. I believe we used the word 'spawned' far too many times to be acceptable, and I'm sure that the classes VIVIFIED us... (Mmhm, that's another one of our 'class jokes'). But ahh, there's one interesting thing we did. Three of our texts to translate were from the 'Ars Amatoria' which is basically 'Love for Dummies' written by an old Roman man back when Latin was still spoken.

It's amusing how he goes on about how 'the good fisherman knows where all the fish swim' and 'the good hunter knows where the deers eat', which reminds me of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' (or is it Knight? I studied it in Yr 8 and I STILL don't know which one it is...) and his puns with 'hart'. But anyway...

Yeah, I think I've made this post too intellectual to be interesting...

In other news! Have you been watching the Australian Open recently? Right now, I am watching the Nadal vs. Tomic match. Tomic is actually holding up really well... I don't think he can win though... Oh how wonderful it would be, having an Aussie underdog beating the No. 1 player.

We'll see what happens.

What An Awesome Song!

~These lines of lightning mean we're never alone, never alone, no, no...

If you recognise those lyrics, then kudos to you! That's from Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows.

I was recently reading a fic which - if you looked up Feline American Princess - you'd find out about, going by comments and this song was used during a dance scene at Sasuke's birthday party.

I looked it up when I realised that I knew it, and BAM! I fell in love with that song again. Hahaha, I dunno what it is about it, but when you listen to it while watching a vid on youtube ("Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows" by agentxander001) and it makes you feel all warm and happy.

Unless of course, you're one of those people who despise love because you've been crushed a billion times?

Hm, if you are... I dunno if saying this is right but... I'm sure you'll find someone soon enough? ^^" Yeah. That's the best I've got.

That's the end of my pointless rant. I'll finish off with this:~

So I said, "I'm a snowball running"
Running down into the spring
That's coming all this love melting under
Blue skies belting out sunlight, shimmering love

Well baby I surrender to the
strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love

P.S. If you think this highlight background is different to the one at the top, you're mistaken. It's exactly the same! It's like that optical illusion where the main background affects what you see. =)

What is it with me and animals?

Today, I picked up a cockatiel which we found on the front lawn of our house when we came home after watching Little Fockers (it's a good movie. REALLY wrong, but good, nonetheless.)

After asking the neighbours if they had lost a cockatiel, we decided to keep it.

Now, this isn't the first time this has happened.

Two years ago in May, when me, my mum and dog went for a walk, we found a box lying on the side of the pavement with a piece of leafy green vegetable, and a rabbit sitting there on the grass just half a meter away.

It was just a baby at the time, only nine weeks old, and I picked it up and took it home.

Now his name is Robby (creative, isn't it?) and he weighs something like 2.5kg. And now, we've picked up a cockatiel.

This means we now have a rabbit turning two, a dog turning six, around ten fish - the oldest of which is turning eight, and a cockatiel whose age is unknown.

-sigh- People really should take better care of their pets.

Well, now each member of our family has a pet. Technically, both rabbit and dog are mine, but for the sake of this arrangement, we'll say the dog belongs to my mum. And my dad has taken the responsibility for the bird, though I don't think he's doing very well...

I WOULD take over her, but I have no idea how to train a bird. I guess if my (few) readers knew anything you could tell me?

And when I mean if you know anything, I mean really, really know something. Not just 'Patience is the key' because I've taught my rather dull dog everything he knows, so patience is very familiar with me.

...I think that's enough for today.

A Time Difference...

Hmm.. after having a look at yesterday's post and realising that it said I had posted it on Dec. 31st, I'd like to clarify that in Australia, it was posted on Jan 1st, at around 5pm. If you really want to, you could do the math and work out the time difference, but I am anti-maths and don't recommend you do. Who knows what will happen? The maths might invade your body and turn you into a robotic human calculator. -shivers- What a nasty thought.

Today - 2nd January - has been a boring day. I think I had a rant saved up for blogging, but... it evades me.

I started the blogging thing in a rather depressing way, so I guess I'll attempt to brighten it with an amusing post...

Currently in Australia, it's the summer holidays. Six long weeks of mind-numbing boredom. It's true that there's only one month of it left, but really - I believe my brain has ceased function for long enough.

If I were to write something in the middle of the term, I'm sure I would be teeming with ideas, but in this dull house of solitude, I am... idea-less. So I guess this means I'll leave the interesting post to some other time?

...That was a waste of words.

And So Begins 2011

Hello, the lack of people who are reading this post!

The new year has begun, and as my resolution spells out, I have gotten a blog. For those of you who are curious as to who I am, um, check out my profile? And to those people who are even remotely curious as to who it was that prompted me to make this rather spontaneous move, I ask you to google 'Autumnleafers".

She looked at my 'write-random-crap-in' notebook and said to me, "You know, you should get a blog." So yes, here I am.

Apparently, as I'm sure you're aware, the world is going to end on 2012, Dec. 21st or something. I think that's a load of bull. To think that there are less than two years left of our lives is a concept not worth considering.  I mean honestly, what if you DO believe it's going happen, and then go and do something stupid the day before, like... tell someone that you 'like/love' them. Or go out and sell all of your meagre possessions. The end of the world rolls round, and BAM! When it doesn't come, all you're left with is a load of embarrassment - with the possibility of having a... boyfriend/girlfriend-type person? And... basically nothing else. Except relief, perhaps.

So you know, to all you people who read this, don't go and sell your stuff on Dec 20th next year. Just... have fun. =)
